Michael Williams

Michael Williams

Chair

I have lived in Malpas for 42 years. Married my wife Rachel 10 years ago and we have five children. I work for a local company as a Highway Surveyor where I get to travel across Britain working for various councils.

My interests are Golf and Long Walks. I also love going camping in our 1972 VW Campervan. I joined the Parish Council so I could have my say in the future of Malpas especially on matters of the environmental, events, and the infrastructure of Malpas.

Planning Lead

I came to live in Malpas over 30 years ago when I got married and have raised my family here. I am married to David and help him run the family business.

Over the years I have been involved with various organisations in Malpas and more recently with the Neighbourhood Plan and Action for Greenfeilds. I joined Malpas Parish Council to make a difference and to ensure that Malpas continues to be a community where people want to live and raise their families.

Charles Higgie

Parish Councillor

I was born on 29 November, 1957, and my family connection with Malpas started a few years later, when my late mother started working as a local GP. In 1963 we moved to Prospect House.

In those days the rear of the building was the surgery and the front the residence for us. I attended Malpas Alport Primary School, King's School, Chester and Sheffield University. I followed my mother onto Malpas Parish Council in 1983.

I was Clerk 1985-7,
Vice-chairman 1987-8,
Chairman 1991-2,
Chester City Councillor 1992-2001,
Cheshire County Councillor 1997-2001.

I returned to the Parish Council in 2003,
Vice-Chairman 2007-8, before resigning to become Clerk & Street Cleaner of Churton Parish Council, 2008-2011.

I served briefly on Malpas Parish Council in 2011, before returning in 2013. I topped the poll in the Malpas Parish Council election of 2015, serving as Vice-Chairman 2015-6 and Chairman 2016-7. I am very keen to keep local clubs, organisations etc. going. I attend St Oswald's Church.
